infoweapons

Infoweapons is a company in Cebu City, Philippines that does IPv6+security+etc. It is a great company and I admire what Lawrence Hughes (Chairman, Founder and Chief Software Architect) is trying to do.

But I'm not sure if wazupcebu is being honest here.
IWC is experiencing a very low turnover rate and has attracted the brightest and top software engineers and IT practitioners in Cebu.
If what he/she means is low number of employee resignations, then that's not true. Many (and mostly senior and valuable) programmers are leaving because of dissatisfaction in compensation. It gives compensation and benefits that are poor compared to other similar companies in the area. An easy example is the number of leaves given; until maybe last June, the total is 5 days in a year. It is now increased to... 10 days. Yehey! (Most companies initially give 10 or more days sick and 1o or more days vacation leaves). I don't want to go on with a list but that should give you the idea.

The only plus really is its stock options via its Silicon Valley style business model. But I'm not sure if that will work in the Philippines. I hope it will. I agree that with it
Its not just the owner that gets rich, its everyone!
Here are possible signs of a bright future:
  • Auditing service provider. Is it going to go into IPO? Or getting acquired?
  • New CTO last September. This is a well known guy with great background. I think it is good PR if we can see more management introductions like this; this also leads to getting investor and customer confidence. (He replaces Hughes who was the original CTO).
  • Release of SolidDNS 2.0. This is the only product listed on its site. We can find mention of other products elsewhere but maybe they're not yet for sale. Hehe.
  • The fact that Hughes, with his start-up experience, is still betting his vast wealth on this venture.
Innofone
Now, we'll just wait if SolidDNS will sell like hotcake. The U.S. Office of Management and Budget has set a June 2008 milestone (also) for IPv6 transition. It's like saying that the government will be buying IPv6 products in 2008. And SolidDNS boxes are already on the shelves in stores near you!

My advice to pinoy job-seekers... This company is for those who want to make it big in the future. Future, not now. And you have to be the "cream of the crop", not just any job-seeker.

PS. I think I know who wazupcebu is. Hehe. I think he was a main go-to guy from his most recognized software development company; he is now a main go-to guy in infoweapons.

Which is insider info? All of the information above are from the web - thanks to google. The closest thing to an insider info above is the number of leaves. Hehehehe.

Yepp, a nice and untraceable disclaimer. Hehehe. I may add to that number soon, depending on how my "forced vacation" turns out... Hehehe...

Lots of Misconceptions here Wow, actually we have increased head count globally (you forgot our European operations).

Just because a few people leave the company doesn't mean the Sky is falling. In fact it's natural for some turnover the fact we haven't had any in years is beyond belief and in fact not good for the company. Companies are like living beings if you haven't had fresh air in years you also might be a little stuffy:> InfoWeapons is now taking a few deep breaths before flying high!

Additionally, I am moving to Cebu with my new wife to help out the operations there.

BTW, America's most wired city IS NOT Mountain View,CA (Aka Silicon Valley) it's Atlanta,GA HQ to InfoWeapons!

Btw, InnoFone has NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING to do with InfoWeapons, Inc.

Please do your research and do not defame the true InfoWeapons, Inc.

Thanks Matt

Yes, matt. There will always be people leaving a company especially in the phils. where life is harder (than other parts of the world).

I had no intention of defaming infoweapons. I mentioned Innofone because it HAD some relationship with infoweapons. It WAS in the news/PR. And it still is in one of the top results when googling infoweapons. And I believe that infoweapons now is doing better than that company. :)

You have some great things happening in there. And the future looks good also. Infoweapons updates coming soon... unofficial, of course.
